The outermost layer of a corrugated printed box is the printing liner. It can be printed with product information and patterns. Printing generally includes two types: four-color printing and Pantone color printing. PMS gold and PMS silver are also examples of Pantone color printing. If you have higher requirements, Pantone color printing is recommended by CBMPrint.
Post-processing is especially important throughout corrugated gift box production. After printing, the outermost paper layer needs to be laminated. After lamination, you can apply several finishing techniques, such as hot stamping (gold and silver), embossing, debossing, and UV coating. These techniques are all suitable for the surface treatment of corrugated boxes.

Cardboard VS Corrugated
Corrugated boxes are a type of packaging box made by mounting corrugated material to cardboard. CBMPrint would like to explain the difference between cardboard and corrugated to help you choose the right materials when customizing packaging.
Cardboard is a single layer (250–450 gsm). The surface is smooth and can be printed directly. It’s generally used for simple packaging, but it lacks the sturdiness and security needed for more demanding applications; it is the cheapest option and a good choice for postcard paper.
Corrugated board, also known as fluted paper, has 2-3 layers or more. It offers significantly higher rigidity and safety, and its relatively low price makes it widely used.

CBMPrint uses E-flute and F-flute as its main flute types.
E-flute has a thickness of about 1.1–2 mm. It is the most common choice, perfect for mailer boxes and general product packaging.
The F-flute is a very thin flute type, with a thickness of about 0.6–0.9 mm. It is ideal for box inserts or high-end product boxes; it is thinner and denser than E-Flute.
We use three types of cardboard as the outermost layer for a corrugated box.
The Greyback duplex board is white on one side and grey on the back, making it a cost-saving option.
The C1S card (Coated One Side) is white on both sides, which is a premium choice.
Kraft paper has a natural feel and comes in white or brown.
What Should We Know About Corrugated Box Dimensions?
During corrugated box processing, you will find that they offer good hardness, flexibility, and strong puncture resistance. Generally speaking, corrugated box dimensions are divided into three types: inner dimensions, outer dimensions, and manufacturing dimensions (or processing dimensions). These three dimensions can be converted to one another.
The outer diameter of a corrugated carton is the inner diameter of the corrugated box plus the thickness of two pieces of corrugated cardboard.
Or the outer diameter of a corrugated color box is the manufacturing dimensions of the corrugated box plus the thickness of one piece of corrugated.
