- Lid and base boxes (also called two-piece boxes) have a separate top and bottom.
- Magnetic boxes are available in both folding and non-folding rigid versions.
- Shouldered boxes have an inner base and a lid. The lid can cover the whole neck or part of the neck.

Rigid Box Manufacturing Process and Production Steps
- Production Steps
Most rigid gift box manufacturing projects follow the production steps below.
First, Get art paper or specialty paper ready for wrapping.Rigid boxes are usually made with wrapping paper and greyboard.The grammage of the greybocardboard thickness affects how firm the gift box.Most rigid boxes use greyboard between 1200 and 1500 gsm.
Second, we print the artwork on the wrapping paper (Note: Some wrapping papers do not require printing,such us colored textured paper.)
Third, most boxes are laminated after printing. Some specialty papers can be used without lamination. Various surface finishing techniques can also be applied, as mentioned above.
Fourth, Die cutting is used to cut the printed wrapping paper and greyboard into the shape of the gift box.Extra material is removed during this process.Crease lines are added before the box is assembled.
Fifth, most factories now use automatic machines to precisely bond the glue-coated wrapping paper to the greyboard (usually the half-finished product that has already undergone corner pasting). This makes rigid box assembly and forming faster. Large boxes or small production runs are usually assembled by hand.
