A special coating is instantly cured by ultraviolet light.UV coating forms a distinct plastic-like layer on the surface with excellent abrasion resistance, much like a “manicure,” where an extra, noticeable protective layer is added on top. This makes it suitable for packaging that requires high scratch resistance and special effects, such as using spot UV to highlight a logo.
We recommend avoiding full UV on rough surfaces, as it tends to show every little flaw. Also, UV coating that’s too thick might crack
Custom UV Varnishing
UV varnish can be applied in two ways: you can coat the entire surface, or just use it on specific spots (that’s called spot UV). With spot UV, the glossy areas create a clear, shiny contrast against the rest of the surface.
If you’re launching a new product, try adding spot UV to key elements like the brand name or logo. It can really leave a strong impression.
Imagine holding a classy black magnetic box. When light moves across it, some parts look like they’re covered in shiny drops of water, or like tiny pieces of clear crystal are set into the surface. That’s the magic of our transparent UV technique against a deep black backdrop.
We add a clear, glossy coating only where you want your logo or design. It’s like painting tiny drops of glass onto the box. This makes your pattern super shiny and see-through. And you can get the same beautiful shine on high-quality stickers and labels, too.
This cool 3D look on the packaging comes from using two finishing techniques together. First, embossing pushes the letters or designs up from the box surface, creating a raised texture you can feel with your fingers. Then, spot UV coating adds a super shiny, glossy finish just to those raised parts. This makes them really catch the light and stand out brightly under store lighting.
And for products that will be made in large quantities, make the QR codes or logos raised and glossy. That way, they stand out, but you still keep costs under control.
